Plantoberfest Kicks Off the Season (September 19)

Westchase Town Center hosts Plantoberfest on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 9540 W. Linebaugh Ave. It's a home-and-garden-style festival built for browsing at your own pace: local vendors, plant sellers, and garden-minded neighbors turning a Saturday morning into an excuse to get outside before the holiday rush takes over. The Great West Chase Turns 25 (October 31)

This one's a Westchase institution. The Great West Chase returns to Village Plaza in West Park Village, at the corner of Brompton Drive and Montague Street, on Saturday, October 31 — and 2026 marks 25 years of neighbors lacing up together. The morning includes a 10K at 7 a.m., a 5K at 8 a.m., a Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m., and a Challenge Run for anyone tackling both the 10K and 5K back to back. Early registration pricing runs through September 15, so if you're planning to run (or just want the best seat on the sidewalk to cheer), don't wait too long to sign up.

A quarter century of the same race, in the same walkable town center, says something about this neighborhood. Events like this don't survive 25 years by accident — they survive because people keep showing up for each other, year after year.
